March Miniature of the Month: Embrace Chaos with the Darkoath Marauder (2026)

Bold claim: Chaos calls, and this March it’s bringing two collectible coins and a month’s worth of free miniature magic into your local Warhammer store. But here’s where it gets controversial: does chasing every new promo really help your hobby, or does it tempt you to buy more than you planned? Let’s break it down clearly, so you can decide for yourself.

Each month, you can drop by a participating Warhammer shop to claim a free miniature of the month. With the Call to Arms campaign and the 1 Million Miniatures challenge both underway, this is a timely moment to visit. Beginning March 7, the feral Darkoath return, and you can pick up one of their Marauders in-store while stocks last.

Darkoath are a diverse group drawn from the Mortal Realms’ many tribes, existing outside civilization’s borders. They are seasoned warriors who vow themselves to the Chaos Gods in various forms. Before battle, each warrior swears an oath in hopes of drawing their patron’s favor; victory yields potent power, while failure can leave them at the mercy of dark deities.

Note: these minis are available while supplies hold and may differ from the pictured model. Your local staff can walk you through claiming one. If you’d like, you can also use the in-store Pick ’n’ Mix paints deal to get your Darkoath Marauder battle-ready or even bloodied from recent conquests—just choose any 10 paints and the most expensive one is on us.

If you’re participating in the 1 Million Miniatures challenge, this is an excellent opportunity to stock up on supplies, and completing your Marauder adds to the tally.

In other news, the Ossiarch Bonereapers have launched a fresh advance from the Realm of Death, and you can mark their progress with a collectible coin bearing Shyish’s emblem. These coins go on sale March 7 and remain while stocks last, so ask in-store how to secure one.

There’s more: from March 28, a Black Library coin will join the collection, tying into the forthcoming Black Library Celebration. If you’re stopping by for coins and a miniature, consider bringing a friend along—everyone gets something fun. Friends can pick between an Infernus Space Marine or a Stormcast Eternals Liberator to take home, receive a painting tutorial for their new model, and learn the basics of Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

Better yet, if your friend picks up a starter set, Combat Patrols, or Spearhead box, you’ll both contribute toward the Call to Arms sticker progress and unlock exciting rewards.

Your guest can also join the Battle Honours program, which rewards participants for engaging in activities across Collect, Build, Paint, Play, and Read.

Lastly, a few store openings deserve celebration: Kyoto, Japan, now has a new Warhammer store; Woodbridge, Virginia, will open on March 21; and St. Anthony, Minnesota, will welcome a new shop on March 28.

Important note: one miniature per person. In Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and the UK, miniatures must be assembled in-store to claim them, with our staff ready to help.

Would you jump at a free mini every month and chase these coins, or would you prefer a quieter, steady hobby pace? Share your thoughts in the comments.”}
