A car mechanic has unveiled the top three most dependable second hand vehicles currently on the roads and its perhaps not what you'd expect. The expert commended the Ford Fiesta and Volvo V90 for their exceptional reliability for motorists but the crown went to Japanese manufacturer Toyota, with the specialist spotlighting several models from the brand that simply "keep on going".
It was also noted how taxi drivers clock up "hundreds and thousands of miles" in Toyotas without them breaking down. Speaking to the MotorBodies YouTube channel, the mechanic swiftly rattled off his top three picks that took the lead as he advised drivers why they should pick these particular cars while ranking them in order, the Express reports.
He stated: "Being an accident repair centre we have cars in and all of the time. The best structural and reliable cars are these. Coming in at number three is the Ford Fiesta but not the 1 litre Eco Boost. Also known as Eco boom."

He continued: "Number two, it may not be pretty but the Volvo V90. This car is a tank. Number one, I genuinely have to say Toyota's, like your Corolla's, your Yaris' and even your Prius' which you see taxi drivers use hundreds and thousands of miles on, but they just keep on going. So these are the top three cars I recommend for reliability."
Reliability is a crucial factor to bear in mind when buying a second-hand vehicle. Before agreeing to a purchase, drivers should conduct a thorough examination of the vehicle to ensure there are no concealed mechanical issues or damage.

Scotty Kilmer, a prominent American motoring mechanic, is yet another professional heaping plaudits on Toyota.

He previously hailed the Toyota Corolla as his favourite choice for second-hand cars, perfect for those new behind the wheel.
Elaborating on its benefits, Scotty noted: "If it's raining this front wheel drive is great in the rain and the snow. They've got a lot of room and they've really come up in quality on their interior, they are nice looking."
Highlighting efficiency, he added: "They're zippy enough but they are low on gas. This owner used to have a Toyota Yaris, a much smaller car, this gets better gas mileage."
On the matter of security, he assured: "And if you're worried about safety, it's got airbags all over the place, they are very safe cars. Plus they're a smaller four-door car a lot cheaper to insure."
The mechanic's advice on picking reliable cars that will save you a fortune comes after the experts at NetVoucherCodes recently revealed the worst times to fill up your car with fuel.
